I'm turning my old desktop into an htpc. Here is what i have so far:

Asus K8v Deluxe
Amd 3200+
1 gb corsair
6800 unlocked
2x 250 WD caviar drives
Chaintech av710 soundcard
Dvd-rw burner
Windows MCE

I plan on using a zalman cpu cooler and maybe arctic cooling on the video card.

I need help choosing a capture card. I want to be able to watch one show , while recording another.

What about a keyboard and mouse setup? I would like to occasionally game as well.

How should i hook my htpc up to my tv if it has only 1 hdmi in. I plan on getting some more hdmi devices, so i guess maybe a dvi>hdmi adapter and maybe and hdmi switch? Let me know if there is a better way to do this.

Anything else i need?

Yea, i have DVI in the 6800. None in the TV, only a vga in.

Is there software that I use that will let me log into over the internet (at work) and record shows while im away?

you might want to check out the forums at htpcnews.com or avs forums. you won't find any more in-depth than at avs.
