I'm looking for an HTPC-style case with a built-in IR receiver. However, the IR receiver has to be wired such that it can turn a computer on from S3, S4, or S5 via a remote like the Microsoft MCE remote. I also want the case to use >= 80mm fans for ventilation, have only one 5.25" bay, accept standard ATX PSUs and full-height PCI/PCIe cards, and ideally, also be made of mostly aluminum. (Edit: I also am not a fan of LCDs on cases)

I've been searching high and low for such a case or combination of parts, but I'm not having very much luck. Does anyone have any ideas?

So far, I know that iMON equipped cases can power up from at least S3, but since I want to use a Logitech Harmony remote, I don't want to pay for the extra iMON remote/software. Does anyone have something like this set up?

If you haven't asked around in the Cases and Cooling forum that might be a better place. There are some people with pretty extensive knowledge of cases who don't peruse General Hardware much.

Have you tried checking out the Antec Fusion line of cases? I can turn my PC on from S3 using my Logitech diNovo Mini keyboard using the receiver. I believe (but don't quote me on this since I've only ever used my MCE remote once) I could turn on my PC using the remote as well.

You said you don't like LCD's on cases - this one does have a display on the case, but I think one of their smaller ones doesn't. (although you may lose remote capability with it)

Right. The Fusion cases without VFD/LCD don't have the built in IR receivers, IIRC.

I just built a new HTPC with the silver Fusion, came with 430W PSU, VFD, and a built in IR receiver. My MCE remote wakes it up from sleep, since it just parses keyboard presses to the LCD/IR receiver.
