HTPC Cards support beyond 1080p

I have an HTPC running with Vista Home Premium. The monitor I use is an XHD3000 which has a native resolution of 2560x1600 (and you can access the goodies such as PiP at that resolution only). So I wanted a video card that would replace my GeForce 6200TC. My only req is that it be passively cooled and supports that resolution and be able to accelerate 1600p. I read that the HD 3450 chokes at 1440p. The HD 3470 might be able to support that resolution when decoding blu-ray. Does anyone have a recommendations or thoughts about this?

Welcome to TeAm Anandtech.

If I remember correctly, the 3400 series is very similar to the 2900 series for ATi...

However, Sparkle makes a passively cooled 8800GT that you might want to look at. It will run hot without any airflow across it (just a case fan is fine) or you could look at a standard 8800GT (stock cooled) and putting a Thermalright HR-03GT on it. The 8800GT should be able to display video at 1600p.
