HTPC as media server to Blu Ray player?

I am going to set up an HD Homerun to feed a couple PCs to act as DVRs. I have an extra TV that does not have a local PC, but it does have a Blu Ray player that can stream video from Networked PCs using DLNA. I've run cables to optimize bandwidth across most of the LAN, though the TV in question is fed by a wireless N link since cabling would have been too messy. It streams Netflix videos fine in HD, so I don't anticipate BW issues.

Will I be able to access videos recorded in Windows Media Center using the DLNA client in the Blu Ray player? Or should I look to other DVR software to make it easier to stream?

To date, I have streamed .MKV videos from my home server (and my phone) without issue. I'm wondering about file formats.

Thanks,
