HTML Coding for Netscape - Quick Question...

Hey everyone,
Well I'm coding up a site, and well I'm ticked off that Netscape can't read <comment> tags. Does Netscape have similar counterpart to <comment> (IE's comment tag)? I tried using <!-- but that doesn't work for the purpose which I'm trying to use comments for. Any help would be appreciated.
