HTC Tilt 2 or other for pure email phone?

I can select Verizon or AT&T networks. I have a blackberry but we are moving to ActiveSync so new choices have to be Windows Mobile or Android.

I only use this device for corporate email while on call and my calendar. Occasionally as a phone, but I usually have my Samsung Mythic for those duties (my personal phone).

The droid doesn't really turn me on due to the craptastic hard keyboard.

Suggestions?

For a phone pretty much only for Exchange? Go Windows Mobile, no question. They have the best Exchange support - Android's works, but is fairly lackluster.

I would recommend the Verizon Touch Pro 2 over the AT&T Tilt 2. They're the same basic hardware, but the Tilt 2 has a really screwy keyboard layout.

Tilt 2 Keyboard - note how the top row is symbols, and you need an alt keypress for numbers:

vs Verizon's TP2:

I didn't see the TP2 on verizon's site today...I will take another look.

The numbers don't bother me so much as on my BB I have to alt for them already and I am used to that.

Yea, its not the end of the world, but its definitely nice to have. Are you going to be typing numbers, or parenthesis more often?

Going from the 5-row G1 to the 4-row Droid was a pain in the ass.

Now I want to switch to Verizon just for that phone!

I recommend the OP get an ipad

I need a pocket carry device. No way I am fucking lugging around an iPad.

I keep a laptop around though if I am out.

There is rumor of the iPhone supporting Citrix Metaframe in the future...if so we will be going to them.

The Touch Pro 2 is an awesome phone. The keyboard is as good as it gets, the screen looks great, the screen tilt is nice, its obscenely customizable (XDA has tons of improved ROMs, not to mention they've gotten Android to run). Its really a shame its gimped by a slow ARM11 processor and a resistive touch screen.

The slow, outdated processor is why I haven't bought the TP2. When is the TP3 coming out? I need to replace my aging Tilt.

I haven't heard anything. I wish they'd put the internals of the HD2 or Nexus One in the Touch Pro's body (with a capacitive screen of course). That phone would kick all sorts of ass.
