isnt' capacity in mAh or coulombs? I mean what does efficiency % have to do with anything? Maybe I'm stupid, but because I work in PV, I'm drawing a blank and I don't see why in the world we need to care about efficiency right now :D

Wasn't there some website where a guy tested all the ACTUAL capacities of aftermarket "extended" batteries and found that many of them were actually smaller than the stock batteries they're meant to replace?

Yep, I remember reading it. Its why I created this thread. A 1700mah batter that actually is 1700mah would be a nice upgrade from the stock battery that doesn't require a new battery door or make the phone larger. Comments in the Droid Life article seem to claim that the 1700mah battery is worse than the stock, and it probably is. I just wanted some concrete numbers. :p

Only trust OEM batteries on their ratings. Most 1700mah batteries are in the 1400 range. The larger ones can be decent but arent anywhere near 3500mah.

You really want to take a chance on a "no name" Chinese knock off?
Stick with stock OEM batteries.

I gotta tell you, the OEM extended battery struggles with the Thunderbolt.

I still <3 it though, it's so flipping fast, it still blows me away. Hell, I'd likely lug around a motorcycle sized lead acid battery so I could use it. :D
