Everytime I consider an android device with each new release I'm re reminded of the inconvenience of it's app storage. I'm not sure how people live with 1gb.

You don't need eleventy billion apps installed. I have some 80-100 apps, including several large games, and have barely scratched 700mb used (have 1.3gb free of 1.9gb available).

Edit: For those saying "Amazon daily free app" over 3/4 of that stuff is junk shovelware - not worth getting. I've downloaded all of 12 daily free apps, and of those, only two are things I REALLY wanted (Chuzzle and PvZ), the rest I definitely could live without.

Like it or not the limited app storage does suck.

Now if we were talking about a G1's app space, then you'd have a point.

I have a Nexus S and even though it has 16GB of internal storage, only 1GB is partitioned for apps. The rest of the 15GB is "SD" storage so I still have to move apps to save space. Games and apps are getting bigger so we need more storage.

i don't have eleventy-billion apps, but I already have 4 gb of apps for my iPod Touch.

I'm not asking for a 200gb HD or something, just enough storage space where I shouldn't have to WORRY about how much space I have left when it comes to installing apps.

Games use like 10-20mb of space for their binaries while their gamedata goes on the SD card. They're not throwing 500-600mb of textures and audio onto the app storage.

The biggest app I have is a game, which uses 17.8mb. I don't understand how you're using so much space? Do you just simply install EVERYTHING you see in the market? Go down the list alphabetically, what?

Does this include games? I'm willing to bet that with all my game data that's on the SD card, I have somewhere around 3-5gb in "apps" too. But on an Apple device, there's nowhere else to PUT game data, except on the same shared storage pool as binaries, music, movies and pictures.

I have loved Fruit Ninja, getting all the Angry Birds, Grisly Manor, Air Control, Doodle Jump, Backbreaker Football, PvZ, Zenonia 2, PewPew2, Majesty, Gem Miner, Chalk Ball, Baseball Superstars and Random Mahjong Pro.

I am WAY past the 1GB limit on my Nook Color. Even though I have a Class 10 SD card, I move games back to my internal memory when I play them consistently to speed up loading times. I would love a phone with 4+GB of app space, but I will settle for Samsung's 2GB.

Sorry but if I feel I'm going to need something at a future time I'm going to keep it installed. I don't want to have to wait to download something again if I need it. 1GB is not big at all. Apps are only going to get bigger. I actually use my smartphone as a smartphone and use it a lot so I have tons of stuff installed. I'm a big Android proponent but having to move crap to SD to make sure you have space because the internal storage is small sucks and something that needs to change.

Indeed. Also worth noting that iOS apps/games are waaaaaaay larger than stuff on the android market. I remember getting Monkey Island back in 2009 for my ipod touch and was kind of shocked when I noticed it was well over 200MB. Then the trend kept occurring as I downloaded more and more stuff. I even noticed Google Search for iOS is ridiculously large since they integrated goggles and a bunch of other google apps into it.

Anyone else want to see what these dual core devices can really do after the community dev's get through with them? The bloatware apps, shitty UIs, and outdated Android really hold them back.

i'd rather they wait and focus their efforts on ICS when it better supports dual core.

but bring on the bloat removal...
