It's truly a miracle that carrier phones get updates at all. I think I'll be sticking to Google PE or Nexus phones. :)

Moto phones are getting updated quickly, too.

I'm sure Motorola is motivated to update their phones quickly. But once you get to step 7 and the carriers evaluate if they want to update the phone and they decide not to, then that's the end of the road for that particular phone, be it Moto, HTC, LG, or Samsung.

T-Mobile did just that with the Galaxy S Vibrant. All the other Galaxy S phones got Gingerbread, but T-Mobile decided they didn't want to support the phone, so it got stuck with Froyo for example.

amen to that. i always wanted a removable battery cause carrying spares around are great, and i always wanted an expandable memor card slot so i went samsung.

took me a few years but i think pure naked android is far more valuable. yes the gs4 has a developer edition so it has all 3 things, but it's too expensive. i've figured out that 32gb internal and a decent battery is all i need. i'll bring my anker portable charging battery with me instead of a spare battery.

plus i'm sick of amoled screens outside. tried to use one on my bike to plan out routes but it was useless. now i want an IPS screen for that reason. nexus 5 is the answer not motox cause its amoled.
