That's a LONG wait...
I figure if they are not going to start until 2013, don't expect them to finish roll outs until 2015.
Verizon should finish it's rollouts this year or by this time next year, and AT&T a year later from that since they started late.

Anyone getting an HTC OneX(L) now simply because it "could" be compatible with T-Mobile's LTE network a year later could be in for a shocker announcement that it's not compatible with the network, not to mention the phone could "almost" be obsolete by then.

Its also GSM/HSPA+ compatible with T-Mobile's network. Ignore the LTE and its still the best phone available for T-Mobile the day it comes out.

Ars Technica is reporting that HTC told them that the Evo 4G LTE uses a pentile display. If that's the case it's not as good a display as the Rezound :/

The Ars mobile reporter isn't very good so I would take anything they report with a giant grain of salt.

That's not very good news for HTC if they can't beat the Galaxy nexus even with a significant hardware advantage.

Yeah but you need to look at Verizon's LTE and realize that there was a much larger need to move to LTE compared to the GSM networks. With the GSM networks, HSPA+ is pretty darn fast. This is also why the rest of the world hasn't deployed LTE that quickly yet. Sure LTE is nice, but 3G speeds are more than fast enough for almost all use.

I agree with everything you said.
I was just throwing a word of caution out there for those who are "only" buying this handset because it "may" be compatible with T-Mobile's LTE network that will start rolling out in 2013.

I remember a lot of people getting fucked up last year during T-Mobile's LG G2X frequency debacle.

I use Straight Talk and I'm satisfied with the speeds I get.

Wow, that's pretty ridiculous.

European version: Tegra 3(which is what the one in this video review was)
US version: Krait(A15 like core)

So the Euro version is the crap version this time around? or am I confusing it with the HTC OneS?

The hardware advantages on the European version are not that significant. It's still an A9 ARM SoC.

Tegra 3 has twice the cores at a higher clock speed compared to the OMAP 4460 as well as a much faster gpu. If it can't win under those circumstances nvidia is going to have another dud on their hands.

I wouldn't say that. From what I've read and seen of Tegra 3, it's a nice chip. Tegra 2 is a piece of turd. No software improvement will change that.

Stock web browsing bug/performance can be fixed by HTC. It's not hardware. People report it's fine when running Chrome browser. Flash performance could be hardware design related but I doubt it. I haven't seen any reports of Transformer Prime owners complaining about poor Flash performance. So it's likely software bug and it's up to HTC/Adobe to fix it.

Stock web browsing bug/performance can be fixed by HTC. It's not hardware. People report it's fine when running Chrome browser. Flash performance could be hardware design related but I doubt it. I haven't seen any reports of Transformer Prime owners complaining about poor Flash performance. So it's likely software bug and it's up to HTC/Adobe to fix it.

the tegra2 is a piece of turd. and the tegra3 is imho just a chip that gets checkboxes checked, but not particularly great.

the tegra2 i think might have single handedly set back android tablets even. i've got a few omap 4 tablets and they seem much much smoother than the tegra2 crap.

nvidia's reputation as a SOC maker seems to pretty much be, rush out whatever chip they can which has all the latest generation specs like the most cores, and be first to market. i mean the dual core chips from every other SOC maker were better than the tegra2. and somehow im not expecting that to change with quad core chips.

HSPA+. Whatever TMo supports in your area, though I'm not 100% sure if its 21 or 42mbps. The OneS has no LTE version, so HSPA+ is as fast as it'll get.

AFAIK only one Tmobile phone right now supports 41mbps and it's a Samsung Galaxy Blaze or something like that.

S2 and amaze are both 42mbps HSPA+ phones.
