It does solve a bunch of problems that the original shouldn't have suffered from.
There's no excuse for not having an sd slot and HTC have been notorious for bad battery life.
The design doesn't look that bad, given a free choice I'd probably pick the bigger battery and extended storage.

From the benchmarks shown the S4 seems to be better than the tegra 3 in the cpu department even though it's dual core vs the quad in tegra 3, so personally I'm just waiting to see how the gpu will handle 720p in the One X.

The Snapdragon S4 is a dual core next generation processor. The Tegra 3 is just 4 current gen Cortex A9s(exact same thing that is in stuff like the iPhone 4S, Galaxy Nexus, SGS2, Droid Razr and Bionic).

I have a feeling that a better CPU test like CF Bench would vindicate the Tegra 3.

There is no excuse for a Pentile LCD display, especially not one that size. Surely HTC wouldn't be stupid enough to put that in their flagship.

HTC has proven itself plenty stupid in the past, up to and including the exclusion of a micro SD slot and user replaceable battery in the entire One line.

And don't get me started on the aesthetics of the new Evo 4G LTE. I realize that's subjective, but ugh. It's just bad.

The front looks good but the rear is ugly.

I don't think the EVO will be pentile, why would they source two different 4.7" 720 SLCD screens?

Engadget has close up images of the pixels of the One X having an RGB stripe. So the Evo 4G LTE (what a dumb name compared to the simple One X) having a pentile screen would be really weird.

That's what I'm wondering, too. I mean for the hate pentile gets, you think some review would have mentioned it. Also, I think that'd be plenty stupid to make a completely different display just for that Sprint version. I'm assuming it's not pentile, and the HTC rep misspoke or we just haven't heard the correct info yet..

Let's ask the Verge and a few other sites like BGR if they've heard anything about it being pentile or not.

The verge says it's non pentile in their review too (from the verge's review):
" It also lacks the infamous pentile subpixel arrangement commonly employed on high-resolution AMOLEDs like that found on the One S, and it runs circles around the Galaxy Nexus's 4.65-inch Super AMOLED for overall quality."

Perhaps they had to cut costs to make up for the extra things Sprint wanted, or even just the added cost of having a physically different model. And the screen took the brunt of the tradeoff.

The international versions don't support AWS frequencies (UMTS1700). Neither will give acceptable data speeds on TMobile's network.
The OneXL and the T-Mo OneS both support AWS, and the OneXL aka ATT's OneX supports LTE1700, which ATT and TMobile are both building networks on. International versions are out, US Carrier rebrands are in for T-Mobile users. (international OneXL will work however).

Personally as an ATT customer, The OneXL and SGSIII are the only 2 contenders for the next x months to replace my SGSII.

Doesn't the ASUS Padfone use Krait as well?
Why would anyone get this over the ASUS Padfone? (I'm only asking because I have a positive opinion about the ASUS brand and their record on the Android Transformer seems squeaky clean besides the "wireless" issue which can be easily fixed)

...besides it not being out yet or a US road map, but it will be released in Taiwan the end of this month.

Its not released yet, but they've announced the plans and the frequencies it will use.

That's a LONG wait...
I figure if they are not going to start until 2013, don't expect them to finish roll outs until 2015.
Verizon should finish it's rollouts this year or by this time next year, and AT&T a year later from that since they started late.

Anyone getting an HTC OneX(L) now simply because it "could" be compatible with T-Mobile's LTE network a year later could be in for a shocker announcement that it's not compatible with the network, not to mention the phone could "almost" be obsolete by then.
