I had an HD7 and loved it, but returned it due to a poor camera module. I'm curious if it was just my particular phone or if everybody's is like this. So, those of you with an HD7, are you experiencing quality images from your phone? If so, care to share some samples? Examples from my HD7 are linked here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/trevortinker/sets/72157625357587125/

Thanks in advance.

Well, in comparison to my brother's Droid X, my old iphone 3g and my Nexus One, it's incredibly inferior. A camera phone doesn't have to be top-notch, but it should be a decent stand-in. Personally, I want my phone to be a good all-in-one device, so if I want a camera, it's there in my pocket since my phone is always with me.

Here are some examples of images taken with the iphone and the nexus one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/trevortinker/sets/72157623124980362/

You can't compare different pics taken in entirely different environments.

The ones from the HD7 are noticeably softer, but ok, your eyes and mine are different.

Still would like to see some samples from others HD7s.

You can't compare different pics taken in entirely different environments.

If you look at the large size images from both sets, every picture from the HD7 shows poor autofocus capability and worse exposure metering. While the images aren't taken at the same time with different phones, since that's not feasible, we can't make direct comparisons. But we can tell that the overall quality is subpar.

They look like run-of-the-mill smartphone photos....

Frankly, I've yet to have a smartphone that actually took worthwhile shots. Its disappointing. However, you're right at that some are better than others. My Samsung Focus' camera is considerably better than my girlfriend's LG Quantum. If you want WP7 and a good camera (and you're in the US making the Mozart not an option), the Focus is probably your best bet, although its AT&T.

It looks like the pictures were taken on a hazy day. Try on a sunny clear day and see if they improve.

The HD7 has a pretty well known pink tint issue on it's camera, other than that though I haven't heard of any other problems. I'm sure the pink tint thing will be fixed by HTC though, they're usually pretty good about supporting their phones.
