People over at Hard Forums are saying for the price use it as a PMP. I have a Cowon J3 plus custom Triplefi 10's, so that idea isn't for me, maybe for others, just a thought.

The HTC ONE V is $100. Which to get?

EVO V 4G is the better phone if you have 4G coverage in your area. I do recommend an extended battery for it. You can get them for about $20 bucks on Amazon, I have the Seidio 3000mah.

Better specs, but it's BIG and half again as heavy. 4G is spotty around me and I hear it's going away with Sprint.

Does the larger screen buy you anything useful?

I for one love bigger screens, so the size is great. Its just like a computer monitor, bigger is better IMHO. Of course I doubt I would like a phone as big as something like the Note 2. I even like the size of the SG2, the phone to me isn't bulky at all, but of course everyone is different. Sprint is currently working on its LTE network, people that are heavy users wont want to go with Virgin Mobile, no matter what phone. If people need speed, then Verizon and AT&T are better choices, of course you pay for that.

I got a couple of these also for $50, nice little phones - mine seems to have more lag than I would like though - even my windows 7 phone seems faster.

Looking to see if I can get an app to clock the One V a bit higher since battery life isn't a problem for me.

HTC EVO v 4G is equipped with a 4.3-inch qHD-level Super LCD display, running dual-core 1.2GHz processor. It has 512MB of RAM memory, with built-in 8 million pixels camera. It also support for 3D video recording and the front-facing camera is 1.3 million pixels. Thanks OP.

I'm on the $25 per month Beyond Talk plan with my Motorola Triumph. Would VM make me switch to the $35 a month plan if I got the EVO? Tried to find info on their website.

The only reason I'm considering switching is because my Triumph is starting to have issues with the micro usb charging port.

I have read that upgrading phones does make people have to go to the $35 plan. Best to ask VM to confirm.

Yes, you will need to upgrade to the $35 plan.

Paid ~$280 for this phone less than six months ago. :(

The cutsom Rom community is all over this phone. The jellybean roms are mature and super fast. It transforms the phone. They overclock too, without hurting battery life

Huh?

I pretty much decided the $49 HTC One V phone I got was the last. Putting up with the people in the XDA forum for this phone made me appreciate the forums for the other devices I have ROMed and rooted. On top of that HTC was and is becoming significantly worse for people who want to have full control over their HTC device.

The phone was a great deal, the torture I endured trying to make heads or tails out of that particular forum was not.

The HTC one V is a different phone that was built to be a budget phone. The HTC EVO 4G was built to be sprints top phone(EVO 3D).

This phone is a bargain, 3D didn't go over well, all the phone manufactures dropped the idea and these phones were moved over to Virgin mobile.

I'm using the Paranoid 2.99 ROM and SuperSick kernel for the One V. Definitely much nicer than stock in terms of speed and responsiveness. Battery life remains great.

This being said, the EVO V is still faster, though battery life isn't nearly as good.
