HTC Aria root + driver HOW TO links [a time saver]

My biggest problem rooting mine was the drivers. I installed them correctly, but could never get the phone to connect. I installed the Tether software and that did the trick, I was able to do the unrevoked root no problem.

for me, the adb loop.bat method did not recognize the phone. I had installed HTC Sync + the modded HBOOT driver but the only way that worked was the unrevoked automatic reflash program.

@OBLAMA2009 - they were when they came out in around June, but Nov 24-Dec 1 they had them for $0.01 online, and $29 plus a $25 bill credit, with a free car charger, belt case and headphones at Costco.

without a contract? i was thinking that if someone wanted an android phone and didnt want to sign a 2 year contract and didnt want to pay 600 for a higher end phone this was a pretty good deal at 250.

last time i looked into the costco coupons deals you had to activate and sign up for two years

of course not... that's obviously the 2-year re-sign-up price. I have had a Nokia E71x for 16 months. I didn't want to wait to cancel AT&T. All the carriers are terrible, and I've been with AT&T since 2001. There is no need to change carriers. I'm not a phone whore. Beside that, why would anyone pay full price for a phone and then pay for service when you can pay for the service and get the phone cost subsidized. Obviously some phones you can't buy subsidized.

By the way, it wasn't a Costco coupon, it was just their sale price. Lots of good phones are $0.01 right now. Amazon has a few for that $0.01 price. If I wanted to spend the money for an unlocked phone I'd probably get the Nokia N900 or MyTouch 4G.
