Hi, im new here, so please son't flame me if i do some things wrong!!

Basically im trying to overclock my Asus P5B Deluxe with a Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 in. However, i thought that i needed to use the HT/FSB multiplier to properly overclock hoever i cannot find tis anywhere in the BIOS. Im using the latest 0804 version. Where can i find the multiplier, or if i don't need it, what do i do instead.

Thanks,

Alex

Edit: I am using a Gigabyte G-power pro HSF instead of Intel stock cooling(Cause i won it in Custom PC mag!)

You have to enable the "Modify Ratio Support" option to change the multiplier value. When this is enabled, the "Ratio CMOS Setting" becomes available.

See the following for some screenshots:

However, you're most likely going to overclock by raising the FSB value and not the multiplier (the max value for the multiplier is most likely locked at 9 for the E6600).

go to advanced, jumperfree configuration, change aituning from auto to manual

then a slew of options will open up to you

change cpu frequency upwards to overclock.

change dram frequency to 533 (or FSB x 2 is how this is calculated) in order to do 1:1 overclocking FSB to mem.

that should be a good start.

and yes, use the link 3NF provided for other options.
