Good deal. But remember TMobile won't unlock it until you've spent at least $50 and 60 days of airtime with them.

I'd been thinking about getting this phone for months. So I went ahead and just bought it. Thanks.

I was looking at the picture of the Lumia 521 on HSN's page thinking the phone sure looks chunkier than I remember. Then I just realized HSN is giving away a free TPU case, headphones, and car chargers with the phone and they are showing the phone with the case on. Wow, this is even better than I thought.

<- Biggest and longest-time Windows Phone fan

Ordered with the new customer coupon code.

$86.65 after tax for a non-contract phone is perfect. :)
I was already considering getting it at $130.

I'm interested to see what Nokia Music is like. I also remember reading that Pandora is ad free for the rest of the year on WP8.

Ugh, wish I knew about the $20 off code before buying. Oh well, $99 is still good I guess.

I called HSN. They can't apply the coupon code after the order is submitted (no surprise). Unfortunately they also can't cancel orders that were placed before midnight.

This is an amazing deal! You can still get 15% off if it's your first time buying from HSN.

Unfortunately I have zero use for another phone so I'll just watch and congratulate people who get this great deal.

After reading up a little, this phone seems to be a bit of a pain to unlock if you want to use it outside T-Mobile network. Having said that, there are several T-Mobile MVNOs where you could use it without unlocking, PlatinumTel is an example.

Thanks Cronos. That was the first thing I checked last night. This thing works on AT&T 3G bands but the unlocking issue is probably the bigger holdup.

Sorry, man. If it's the first time you shopped at HSN you should've gotten it too. I actually got it after clicking the link in the OP and immediately there's a pop-up screen telling me that I could get a 15% off coupon if I subscribe to their email newsletter.

I unchecked the subscribe to newsletter. Didn't notice the 15% discount for leaving it on. *snivel*

Wait. Can you get the $20 off AND then 15% off of that? Do they stack?

Never mind. Coupon is dead now.

Two points everyone needs to be aware of:

T-Mobile will unlock these, they just tend to give you a difficult time with the unlocking process.

All of the color varieties are white, only the TPU case you receive is different. Despite the fact that this phone is simply a variant of the international Lumia 520, I regret to inform everyone that the 520's shells will not fit the 521.

I was debating on buying this to just test, and then I remembered that it's a dumb idea. So I just bought it on Amazon, and I'm going to see how the network is in my area. That way if it's good, I'll go all in on T-Mo and cut my losses with Verizon! :D

I wonder why Nokia decided to make the back plates of the 520 and 521 incompatible with each other?

I'm guessing the AWS HSPA support required a different antenna length or something.

It actually looks more like it was to fit the "T-Mobile" logo below the capacitive keys, sadly.

In other news, MetroPCS is getting the Lumia 521. AT&T is getting the Lumia 520. It looks like Nokia is attempting to muscle their way into America (which has never been a strong market for them) by attacking the low-end segment. Not a bad strategy - worthwhile Android handsets at $100 aren't exactly easy to come by. The Lumia 521 was a steal at $150, but $100 is hard to pass up.
