HSF on a radeon any good?

Would a new HSF do anything on a radeon in terms of overclocking? or is it just a waste of money?

Waste of money. It's a very cool running card.

Yeah it really doesn't need it. The original spec for the chip was to run at 200mhz so it is actually underclocked to begin with.

Plus you will hit the limit with the speed of your ram way before heat will become an issue.
