hsf for XP 2400 good enough?

just a quick question...

would my swiftech MCX 370 (aluminum one) be enough to cool the XP 2400?

just running at stock, no OC.

Looks like it should be able to...Hook it up and watch the temps, if they go too far over 55C load (go with your gut, if you think it's too hot it's probably too hot), you're in for trouble, otherwise it'll run hot but should be cool enough to be stable.

It should be fine... Like MDE said, and a guideline i tend to stick with, is about 55C... about the "safe" limit for AMD cpu's...


However, 55C is rather cool by AMD's standards... They say their CPU's are good up till about 90C...

hah.... 55C on load? or idle...

i'm running it on my XP 1800+ (non t-bred) right now... and it runs in the low 50's... (idle and load)...
i just thought that was rather high....
