HSF Fan seems to have been on backwards

I was getting slightly irritated with the increased idle temps as the summer started approaching here in sunny old Florida. I'm only lightly overclocked on my mobile 2600+ at the moment. It's running at 216x10 with 1.55v, and I've been idling around 45-46C. I'm waiting on a new case at the moment, so I've only had my system sitting in a temporary generic steel case for a few weeks. While looking at my system with my side panel off, I felt some good breeze coming from my HSF, and sure enough it was blowing air away from the CPU. I took the HSF off, switched the fan to blow onto the copper fins, and booted up. Now running at 39-40C idle. Crazy or what? 😛
Me thinks I should check for these things next time.

Well, it is kinda funny! I'm glad your baby is okay.

What are you trying to say about my mother?

😀 😛

Glad your processor came out ok, those temps weren't really dangerous though.

Definitely not dangerous, but I'm trying to run an OC'd rig here 🙂
The extra 5C will go a bit of a way when I get my new case and run my proc back closer up to the speed in my sig.
One problem I have noticed though, although it's probably just nothing because I've just gotten back up and running...but I hopped onto Gunbound to play a bit...and my game was being pretty laggy/jerky
I checked my temps and they were fine...40C
I'm wondering if perhaps I chipped/damaged the CPU when I took the HSF off or put it back on...
I wouldn't think so, because I've taken that HSF off at least a dozen times and never run into any problems. Maybe something was running in the background at the time. I'm going to have to look into it more.

Welp, FarCry ran without a hitch, and if that runs without a hitch, it's pretty easy to conclude everything is fine 🙂
I suppose norton must have popped up to update my virus definitions or something
