What is considered the more effective method for cooling CPU heat sinks...blowing air down through the heat sink, or pulling air up through the heatsink? I've heard that pulling air up through the heatsink is more effective, but you run the risk of damaging the heat sink fan due to the heat...anybody else know whether this is true or not?

Denser air generally cools better as it can pick up more heat and carry it away. Think on it...
