Ok, i broke one of the mounts on my socket for my HSF...Does anyone know if superglueing the mount back on will work, or if there is another HSF that will use the other mounts on my board?

I have an Epox EKHA+ which has 3 tabs on each side of the socket(I broke the middle one) so i guess if theres anyone who's had this problem or knows a HSF that will use just the outside mounts, cause i think the superglue idea is probably just too ghetto-fabulous to work. :)

thanks,
deja

I think Taisol HSFs use all three or 2 of the tabs. You can try and JB-weld the tab back. That is an AMD mobo, right? You could go with an ALpha PAL8045 that uses the 4 holes to mount...

I agree with getting a new hsf too.
The Alpha 8045 is great, but it requires you to remove the mobo to install it.
If you don't want to do that or spend much money you could get a DragonOrb3, they're not as bad as some people say but they aren't that good either, but they use all 3 mounts on the zif-socket. Just remember to get a shim since they place mush pressure on the cpu.
A Molex Radial Fin use two mounts on each side of the socket, but I'm not sure how secure it would be only being held in place by one on one side.
That's the three hsfs I've used that could solve your problem. If I had that problem and would use the mounts on the socket I would get a hsf that used all the mounts, just to be sure that it would sit well and tight on the cpu.
