HSBC Online savings users

directly transfer funds from your paypal account to your HSBC savings account? I've always transferred to my local bank first and then sent to my HSBC acct - which takes about 6 days. Through paypal they ask for your account and routing #'s and HSBC does not provide you w/ a routing # for an online savings account. Am I missing something here? Thanks in advance.

yea, I believe you can get a routing # for your HSBC online saving acct. call them and ask. well, I have hsbc checking linked with paypal.

I thought checking accts had a routing #, but savings do not w/ HSBC.

I believe the routing number just belongs to the bank... The routing number identifies the bank, and the account number belongs to you. So it works either w/ savings or checking. For example, I've got my ing direct account linked to my hsbc direct account 🙂

Of course every time I call, they're too busy and the answering service tells me to call back later after I spend 2 minutes hitting the prompts and entering my acct #, social, etc.

The routing number is 02200020. I had to get it so I can do direct payroll deposits.

So this routing # would be the same for me? I just want to be sure they don't have different #'s for different parts of the US or other countries.

I actually just tried to enter this routing # and it says:

You have entered an invalid Routing Number for a bank account in United States.

EDIT: Actually you just left out one of the 0's. It works fine now. I called them up and got the correct #.
