HS & HSF from AMD retail box

That's a negative!
I have a 1.2 gig in an antc w/ 5 fans. My case temp was 2 degrees above room, put my cpu was at 58 degrees celcius, not even close to full load. I went to a globalwin, shaved off 9 degrees and gained a few mhz. I also removed the pad and used grease. I am runing close to 1400 mhz, I might even go to water cooling.
Good Luck

58?? Damn....how hot is your 1.2 running at default? I'm running Epox 8K7A inside Antec sx830 running 5 fans. The 1.2 is barely breaking 36c with Volcano II on full load.

FYI, the stock HSF that came with Athlon should be a CoolerMaster 6H11 or something. It's not that great, but sufficient for nonclocking use ONLY.

Gundam...i have the same case as you...you think you can tell me your P/S wattage...i'm planning on adding 3-5 fans in addition to the 2 i already have...is 300 enuf?

yeah, I have the Antec 300w PS. it's plenty for my 1.2Ghz+VolcanoII, 1xTNT2, 1xSBLive!, 2 IBM GXP HD, 1xCDROM, 1xCDRW, NIC, and a floppy. and still running 5x80mm fans on top of it all. 🙂 So there's plenty of power. but how do you add 5fans on top of the 2? 😉 But at 1.68w (Top Motor, 2600RPM) each, I dont' think fans are going to be a power problem at all.
