Im new into the era of overclocking, and the mb and cpu with fan came as a combo so it was already built up. But now i want to connect my bridges to my 1ghz tbird but i cant figure out how to get the hs & fan off... anyone know a site that goes step by step or have done it themselves? I cant see any latches or anything. Thanks

What I do to remove it is place the palm of my hand over the heat sink and applie a little pressure (just so the heat sink doesn't move and crack the core) then with my other hand I press down and push out so the clip gets off. Same thing for putting it back on.

you could use a screw driver....there should be a little lug on the heat sink clip near of edge of the mobo side. using your fingers hurt ...

Is it a Taisol Cek733 HS? If so just push down the clip with a large flat-head screwdriver and use a smaller one to pull the clip out from under the notch. This has worked for me about a dozen times w/out any problems.

If it's like my TS
- get M/B in exposed and supported area: slide out its M/B tray so you can approach clip from the side which covers the slot-A's release lever (nearest KT7's edge)
- put medium flat-head screw-driver into top hole on clip, just above clip's latch (top hole has inside pocket to keep screw-driver in place)
- stabilizing (pressing) fan / cooler with one hand, push the clip down and pull it outwards from the socket in one motion of the screw-driver -- yeah, this only makes sense after you've done it! 🙂

Wish I weren't so familiar with this operation: after 3 tries, penciling the L1 still hasn't worked; this weekend I'll do it once more using the defroster-repair paint from an auto-parts store rather than a pencil.

I wouldn't push down on the polished top of the clip: too much chance my screw-driver would slip off, crash into the M/B and risk damage. A screw-driver won't slip out of the top hole in the clip, so that seems safer to me. Subversal's probably a lot less clumsy than I! 🙂
