HPT370 ULTRA DMA100 PROBLEMS..

PIII650/100 (not overclocked)
128 MB PC133
Abit BE6-II board with SV BIOS
WD C 153AA-32BAA0 15.3 gig drive
Voodoo3 3000 w/ tv out
SoundBlaster Live! (not working properly, disabled in hardware profile)
Philips CDRW400 USB
WIN98 upgraded from WIN95 w/USB Support
WIN98 Service Pack 1 update

I keep getting Code 11 in the hardware profile for this HPT370 scsi controller(hardware ver. 3)
The device shows no resource conflicts.

I am having the following problems, according to system info.

#1 Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator Code=2 (0x2) Device Failure

#2 PCI Multimedia Audio Device
Code=28 (0x1C) The drivers for this device are not installed correctly. this is the SB Live card, it is currently disabled in hardware profile, i have had problems with the installation of this card on 2 machines. It will always try to install as a SB Live Value, which it isn't.

#3 Highpoint Technologies Inc. HPT370 Ultra DMA100 Controller
This Device Has a Problem: Code=11 (0xB) Device failure:
I have updated the drivers to the latest offered. and I still have problems. The original driver used was the Ultr DMA66 Controller.

I would appreciate any assistance from anyone that really knows what they are doing can offer.

I think I found my problem.. took out the SB Live! and put in a SB 16 in the isa and everything is now working properly. Now I just have to find out what's wrong with this expensive soundcard.

I might be wrong but the answer sounds pretty obvious to me. Although Win said there was no conflicts there probably was one between the sblive and the ata66 controller. What you might want to try is just move the sblive to another PCI slot. Might remedy the prob.

Try disabling serial ports in the bios to free up some resources. Maybe that will work. I have the Abit KT7 and everything I installed the drivers for my SBLive, the computer would hardlock. I diabled the serial ports and everything installed and ran fine. Hope this helps.
