I just bought a HP LJ 1022 printer. It is connected via USB, OS- XP Pro SP2. I have the following problem:
Limited a/c users cannot change print settings. The print quality defaults to a FineRes 1200 with light toner setting. All admin type accounts print correctly according to settings preferred.
The answer I got from HP:
"Limited access users will not be able to access the printer properties on a shared printer. This is a function of the security settings of the Windows operating system. They will be limited to the property settings that are set on the driver at the server. If you want these users to be able to print with different settings, you will either need to grant them Power User access or set up a separate driver on the server with the settings that you want them to have."
WTH? I have never faced this problem with any of my previous HP laser or inkjet printers.
This is creating a serious issue since my wife cannot print as she wants.
Any suggestions? TIA
