if it's a nitro tank...shouldn't it be useing HPA/n2 instead of co2?

Why the hell would you use air with a phantom pump?

Co2 compresses into a liquid. Air does not. There is no conversion AFAIK.

Indeed but I'm trying to figure how many that of thw 12gram co2 will equal to that Nitro tank. In terms of shot count... I can get around 40 on average per 12gram co2 what can I expect from my 42ci 3000psi n2 tank? Sorry for the confusion.

I'm not sure if you can calculate that because with co2 it's in grams (liquid) and with nitro it's in pressure?

edit: I'll take a rough guess and say at least a thousand shots.

I shoot a blowback gun with 20oz tank(16-18oz because of anti-siphon) and I can get 1k or more from one fill.

edit2: Just go out and try it out...why are you trying to calculate it? A nitro fill is only a few bucks...and if you're shooting hpa your balls will be more accurate than with co2. especially with that phantom which is known for dead on accuracy.

I'll take it that you do not play paintball at all, because I can anyways. Anyways sorry about the confusion, I was wondering about the amount of shots that I could be getting from my n2 tank compared to the 40 per 12gram co2.

Quick answer ZERO grams of CO2 in a nitrogen tank.

Compressed air used in nitro tank. Vary few places use compressed nitrogen to fill tanks with so they use the closest thing to it and that is the air you breathe.

The best thing to do is to weight your nitro tank empty. Then get it filled and then weight it again.

BTW 1 ounce = 28.34952 grams. On a cold day it takes more CO2 per shot than on a warm day since CO2 is a temperature sensitive gas.

I was thinking of a different paintball gun (a $40 Brass Eagle wal-mart special.) Yes, I do play paintball. The thing with using CO2 is that rapid fire shots start to freeze the components inside. With a pump you wouldn't see such a problem. Generally with N2 you get "less bang for the buck" meaning with two tanks of the same size, you will get more play out of CO2, even though it is inferior. That is my experience. N2 will cause you to refill more often. Not a big deal though.

This still doesn't answer my question. After all I know there is no co2 in the n2 tank, I was just wondering the equiv of the either ones. 42ci 3000psi is the equiv to what co2 oz?!
