it will burn takes approx. 20 minutes to burn EZCD reports no errors during or after recording. I put in a stereo cd player it counts like it is playing and shows correct time, but no sound. Same thing on computer plays, but no sound.
The burner was slave on second IDE port with other CDROM. I switched them around making burner master, same thing.
I noticed on BIOS screen that the burner is PIO 3 and the other cd is UDMA 33. I checked device manager and neither cd has dma enabled. In fact it doesn't have it as an option. Could this be causing the problem.
This drive worked perfectly when I took out of my system when I got my second SCSI drive to compliment my $150 Smart and Friendly 12X burner deal.
I used the same software he is using. EZCD 4.0std putting image on hard drive and burning from HD to CD
I didn't try updated drivers for via chipset. Couldn't connect to net at his house. POS AOL
