HP zv6170us Pavilion vs. GATEWAY 7510GZ

Both the GATEWAY 7510GZ Notebook and the HP zv6170us Pavilion are VERY similar notebooks that have similar characteristics that I like. I need some advice on which is the better deal.

points that I am looking at:

The HP Pavilion is more expensive, but has a rebate for 50 buckaroos, making it the same price as the gateway.

The HP Pavilion has 512KB of L2 Chache, while the gateway has a 1 GB

The HP Pavilion has ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M IGP with 128MB of DDR memory while the gateway has ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600 with 128MB of memory (I am doing some gaming, like half life 2, so graphics card matters)

there are other differences as well

thx in advance to all replys

The gateway is a much better gaming laptop, but buy a service plan on it wherever you get it...gateways have a higher incidence of problems according to consumer reports. and from working at best buy...i will agree with them.

You mean Gateway has 1MB L2 Cache. Its also faster and a newer core btw.

I have the ZV6000, I'd much rather have the MSI 1029 but the Gateway could be a compromise.

The HP has intergrated graphics, so if you want to play games, the Gateway is your only choice.

It's a great machine...I have almost the same thing (7426...9600 vs x600) and it's an awesome laptop. I don't play games on laptops unless I'm on a plane or something but I ran a lot of tests and it gets 40fps in HalfLife 2 stress test. Not bad. Can even play Doom 3 at about 20 fps with decent settings.
