Circuit City has the HP ZE4900 for $549.99 AR ($799.99 less $50 instant savings less $50 HP MIR less $150 CC MIR)

This has a configuration code in the ad so I guess it is a build to order at their "Custom Computer Center".
Ad here.

? 256MB DDR Ð SDRAM memory

I was looking at getting this laptop, but the reviews seem to be pretty bad. Slow, bulky, only two USB ports, and low battery performance.

uh . . . Allisolm's deal was for a Pentium M. Your review is a Celeron M.

I forgot to mention this, my apologies. CircuitCity.com posted the wrong spec's for the laptop in the ad. It does not have wireless, and it is a Cerleron. They have said that they will not honor the price for a laptop with those spec's. Allisolm's thread on fatwallet.com has more details about this.

I also though that it was a great find at first, but CC really seemed to mess up on this one.

timswim78. The review is for the same model but with a Celeron M processor. This deal is for a Centrion 1.4 CPU. Huge different 😉. Nice find allisolm!

Hi, here is the FW thread that explains that Circuit City misrepresented the product.

Also, thanks to Allisolm for looking out for a good deal. I am always looking for a good laptop deal

Slow, bulky, only two USB ports and low battery performance (no wireless built-in, only one PCMCIA).
Sounds just like the recently tested Dell Inspiron 1150 (2.4GHz?) my brother bought for Christmas, paying $600 after $100 rebate. Ground shattering 1200 3dm2k1 (I know, not meant for gaming, but this Inspiron 1150 is ridiculously slow).

Actually the HP is better due to it's graphics and larger HD.
