unlikely, then it would be abused as most other rules are

^^^ Exactly

We look at the request on a case by case basis and the track record of the member.

And then we vote on it. This is not to be a common occurrence.

As long as it isn't a new member trying to sell them, I don't see the problem. Not allowing sales isn't going to put the touchpads into the hands of the less fortunate. Not allowing them to be sold here is just forcing the seller to post in a larger market and making it harder, riskier, and more expensive for an ATer who does want to pay a premium to get one.

The rule clearly states "bulk" and "in quantity." How many other sales have taken place where the seller is making a profit? It's wrong now because so many people wanted a touchpad? That's not right imo. If a person isn't selling a bunch of touchpads, which isn't likely with how hard they were to get, I don't see what the problem is. You guys just want to punish these people unfairly

Now if those that bought multiples and just wanted to pass the savings at cost to anandtechers then that would be great. The reality is people bought multiples to make a profit. Since we cannot tell you how much profit you can make on these, we have disallowed them as we did for a month or so with the wiis and the iphones.

We are not punishing anyone. We are preventing profiteering on the backs of the FS/T members.

If you want to make a profit, take it to eBay. You aren't doing any favors to the membership here by selling for a profit. All a seller is doing is avoiding eBay fees.

I have addressed all that in this post in the sticky in the FS/T forum regarding HP Touchpads.

Not that it matters, but I disagree, but maybe it's because I don't have a problem with people buying them to resell them and some people are just pissed off about it. It's a free market, people can do what they want IMO. I don't see what preventing the sales here is doing except for raising the prices for any members who may want to buy one. And making them deal with a (more) random stranger on the internet.

I see it as punishing a member who wants a touchpad, and the sellers.

That your opinion. And no, this is not a free market. That would be eBay.
This is our rules and we will not let this turn into eBay.

We are not punishing anyone and for you to even suggest that what we've done here is bogus. You have no clue what we go through to protect the integrity of this FS/T forum.

This discussion is over. You've made you point twice and I have responded.

Now let it die.

wtf, what's you're problem? I'm stating my opinion, i'm not telling you to change the rule. If you don't want to have a discussion, you shouldn't be posting on a discussion board.

You might not want to think about it, but it is hurting people, buyers included. And I'm not sure why you're bringing integrity into the discussion. And by free market I mean free countries in general. Capitalism. You can obviously make up any rules you want.

That's my opinion, deal with it

WTF is my problem???

You clearly have not read anything I've written. We will not allow profits to be made on the backs of the anandtech FS/T membership that are created by shortages of items and the opportunists that wait for these to happen.

We hurt no one and we get to protect the integrity of this forum.

Is that clear enough for you?

Sold both of mine on ebay for close to 600 dollars.

Think about it.

Your forums, Your rules.

Personally, I believe your keeping these FS/FT forums at a garage sale standard.

Ill go back to Hardfourms, where I fine dine.

OK, now you're trolling. Go ahead and rip off those members with what you call "fine dining"
