Sorry about this being off topic, but i know there are alot of people who read this forum and have the converted HP scsi drive to a Plextor scsi drive, it was a hot deal back in early december, well i just recently installed it along with my adaptec 29160 scsi card, and whenever it goes to the identifying devices part for my scsi card during boot up, it takes a really long time to get past my "plextor" cd-rom, while my scsi burner and scsi hd take a lot less time, is it normal? thanks in advance, once again i'm sorry this is off topic...

wrong forum, should post it on hardware topic, the answer is if you have a cd in the drive, it will take a longer time for the scsi bios to show the drive id, i have a plextor 40x, (same as hp) on a 2940u2w. hope this answer your question

yeah, I have the same issue with my Plextor 40x max, when there's a cd, it takes a while longer. The drive works perfectly though, as far as I know it is usual for this drive.
