OK...figured out my Windows Update issue...had to do with it going to sleep before the updates were done and causing it to turn off the wifi connection. Got it sorted and everything went smoothly from there.

And after getting it set up the way I want it and using it for a few days...I am VERY happy with my purchase...but then I'm not trying to use it to play demanding PC games that can sweat some elite level desktop gaming PCs like some I've seen elsewhere on the net trying so and then bashing the device because they can't play the latest and greatest on Ultra settings.

The only real beef I've had so far is I wish the audio quality and cameras on this thing were better but I knew those issues going in so whatever.

I've purchased the 7" version from OP's thread as well as HP Stream 8 from Amzon. The latter one includes 200MB/month data plan that I needed.

Both are exceptionally good devices especially for the price. After using both for a while I must take hats off to MS for doing really good job with Windows 8.1

I got the 8" one for $150 but the data plan is for the life of the device.

I also have upgraded my desktop OS from 7 to 8.1 because of those 2 tablets.

I don't use their office as I don't want to deal with the upgrade later on and pay monthly.

Installed Office 2007 on both and regular dropbox. All runs superbly even with 1GB of RAM.

I went straight to Amazon to buy one then I realized it was T-Mobile. So basically worthless in most of the country.
