Staples has the HP Scanjet 4600 Scanner (that's the see-through flat one) was $129.99 for $59.99 1/23-1/29. Use that $10 off $40 in-store coupon from email for $49.99 price. I love the looks of this.

48-bit 2400 dpi resolution
See-thru window and breakthrough thin size
Scan photos, documents, books, even hard-to-scan items by simply positioning scanner over what you see
See what you scan and easily scan at the touch of a button
Preview scans in as little as 6 seconds

Got one in Sterling VA store. For some reason the $10 of $40 coupon was missing a digit but the clek wangled something out a $7 off so I didn't argue as it's starting to snow bad. I used the same coupon no problem at same store for the Canon A75 last week!

I'm dumping my Visioneer 7600. It's been good over the last 6-7 years but the softwrae is starting to freeze and I've tried reinstalling one time too many. Time to upgrade!

THANKS! I've heard these didn't get very good reviews but I like the style and the main complaints were portability and software interface problems which don't affect me. I actually ended up getting mine for 36(with tax) when I ordered my tax software (with norton) and a 30 dollar coupon

Norton Internet Sec 60
Tax Cut deluxe 25
Tax Cut state 25
Scanner 60
-30

total before rebates w/tax: 146

The higher model 4670 receives quite a few negative response - a dark band appears on the image, sometimes several. It is same design as 4600, one can assume this may also occur. If you can find a refurbished one (directly from HP), the problem probably has been resolved. When you get a new one, you are taking a chance; HP will replace bad units as long as it is under warranty.
