I have a 3rd party program in which I directly scan black and white documents into. (Think scanning stuff directly into MS-Word).
When I do "Insert -> Picture from Scanner", I get a 2 choices for source:
* HP Scanjet G4010 TWAIN
* WIA-HP Scanjet G4010
I used to use the WIA mode, and it worked great. The best part was that it would not invoke the HP external app. It was seamless and scanned directly.
Now, this mode doesn't work in Win7. I have to use the first option, which now launches the HP v14 scanning app. Now, there are extra steps. It scans, and then I must select B&W, which takes processing time to re-render. I can't select B&W ahead of time, like before. It also scans too lightly. I need to go into color adjust and raise the darkness to 500. Every time I scan. Annoying. Lastly, I must close the external app so it can then somehow export the image back into the host/container app.
What can I do to streamline this now clunky process?
