HP Scanner and Win 2000 ???

A bad combination or not? Fact is I can't get any driver to work with it but there are software updates available for some programm relating to the scanner on the internet. It's a pain in the butt, i need that scanner asap for some work, but can only run it on my old crate with win 98.

Big is the sucking thereof.

Does anybody know how to make the scanner work on win2k?? It's a Scanjet 3300c USB
 
Thanx for the help... u need to order the drivers on CD from HP which is not free.... (why do I get the impression they're ripping me off??)
