Ok I'm getting ready to send my HP laptop back for repair, as it has a display problem.

The person, although I could barely understand a word he said, seemed to say that I should take out the harddrive, as it'd be wiped anyways, is this correct?

How long do these things usually take? Do they confirm any repairs/activity with you over the phone or email or anything? I asked the guy and he just kept repeating some text he had to read...so i didn't really get much in regards to this.

Fedex is supposed to pick it up tommorow I guess... I hope everything goes well...I'm sort of wary sending my computer to these people considering I can't communicate them on any sort of coherent level.

If you are sending it to HP, then you probably should make sure you back up your data or remove the HDD. If it is out of warranty, you don't have to send it to HP. You should be able to find a local service provider, that speaks your language.
