I have not been able to get my HP PSC 950xi multifunction device to work since receiving it last week. Every time I try to print, I receive an error message saying it can't print/communicate with the unit.
However, WinXP recognizes the printer upon connecting the USB cable and seems to install the built-in drivers properly. It shows up under Printers & Faxes and everything.
I've tried installing it on both of the computers I have: a self-built CUSL2-C BP w/ 1GHz PIII, and a Dell Inspiron 3200 laptop. It can't print on either of them. Both have XP.
I thought that it might've been: 1.) the unit itself, 2.) my USB cable, or 3.) WinXP. But then I brought it over to my friend's house, and it installed and worked perfectly on his Dell Dimension L w/ 566MHz Celeron, also running XP.
So I'm at a loss as to what the problem might be. I love the unit, it prints beautiful photos and has superb features. But it's useless to me if I can't even get it to work w/ either of my computers.
Can anybody please help?
Thanks in advance!
