If anyone is looking for an HP PSC 2210 multifunction unit (printer, scanner, copier, fax) you might be able to get in on a really hot deal! I've used the 2110 which is the same thing without the fax functionality or the built-in memory card readers and the print quality is EXCELLENT! Also, the copier function comes in extremely handy as well. There are two ways to do it.

Staples has the PSC 2210 (#493228) for $299.98. Gateway.com had it for $249.99 but apparently changed it around 10am to $299.99 BUT I called Staples CSR and she said that a couple of people had done the same PM already so she agreed to honor it! (Yippee!) It might help you to tell her that Mack at Gateway.com (ext. 75823) said he will honor the $249.99 if you buy it from him.

So...

Staples PSC 2210 $299.98
PM to Gateway -$ 55.00 (110% pricematch)
$50 off $200 coupon -$ 50.00
Shipping free
-----------
Total $194.98 plus tax

AH! But there's more! Staples is offering a mail-in rebate for a $60 giftcheck with purchase of the PSC 2210. This effectively brings total cost down to $134.98. WHAT??? That's not enough for you??? There is also an HP mail-in rebate for $50 if you buy (or have bought) a digital camera between the end of October and the end of December. That increases to $75 if you buy (or have bought) an HP camera! So... $194.98 with no rebates. $134.98 counting the giftcard without camera purchase. $84.98 WITH camera purchase. $59.98 with HP camera purchase. Not too shabby for a printer listed at $300, eh?

P.S. If you can't get the PM and you end up buying from the Gateway guy, use the $20 off Gateway coupon and you can still use the HP mail-in rebate if you buy a camera.

EDIT: By the way, the giftcheck can only be used at the B&M, not online. Which sucks for me because the nearest Staples is about 2 hours away.

How does this compare to the HP D135 that was a hot dealio just a couple weeks ago or so?

The D135 is an All in one workhouse compared to the 2210. The D135 is more robustly constructed, faster, cheaper more cost effective ink, and has more options to grow with the machine (duplexing, networking, extra paper tray, parallel just to name a few). The 2210 is better for most home user because it prints MUCH better pictures. The d135 is a solid multipurpose all in one that thrives the more you use it, but 2210 is much better at pictures. Also the 2210 doesn't have an ADF and it only has letter size bed, the d135 has a 50 page ADF for copying and faxing, and a legal size scanning bed.

Also, the d135 is a fairly noisy machine. Price to pay for speed and being a workhorse.

Picked it up at the UPS depot this morning! :) Stupid UPS... I've had to pick up 4 of my last 5 UPS packages because all this expensive computer equipment requires in-person signature. Now to get my $50 printer/camera rebate and my $60 giftcheck! Cha-ching!
