Need some help here, i can't fiqure this out. My cousin is having problems with his HP PSC 1310 printer. It doesn't even get detected at all when he plugs it into his USB port. Nothing, Nada, zip! I asked him is the printer on (as that is actually a common problem lol) and he said yes. I've done alot of things to get his printer to get detected but nothing. Any advice is appreicated.

EDIT: He's pretty sure its a 1311 printer

First thing I would do is go to the HP site and download the All in One software removal tool: Here is the page:
First delete the printer from Start>Printers and Faxes and then run the tool. Once all the software is deleted you can download the latest software and drivers for the printer and reinstall. You should disconnect the USB cable from the printer before you install the software. HP install routines usually want to prompt you to connect the cable during the installation. The machine should be detected during the install. If not, c'mon back.

There is nothing to delete since the printer was never detected in the first place. He got the printer from his GF for the first time, brought it home and plugged it in... nothing happened. however i will try the drivers from the site thx.
