Can someone please tell me how to get rid of the status icon in the system tray. I have the deskjet 970cse and installed the home user drivers because I like the preview feature and the corporate driver dosn't have this feature.

Thanks

Start ---> Run ---> msconfig

Find the HP status under start up and remove it.

Thats just it. It's not in there. I have done it before and HP told me where in the registry to remove it but I lost that email. I had a really hard time getting them to tell me how to do it. I just didn't want to go through all that hassle again. I'm not sure how they do it but I remember it's a pain to remove it.

I just removed mine...

I found it was actually in the "Startup Folder." I did spend some time trying to figure it out...

Start --> Programs --> Startup --> rt. clk. on HP Icon and choose delete.

Worked for me in XP. I have the 950, but it should be the same.

best of luck
