HP power supply.

Hello,
I think I need to replace a power supply for an HP 7955, does anyone knows if HP uses propriortary PSU or can I just any microATX PSU? If I have to get one for this HP, where can I get one just for the HP? Can I just buy a new PSU and put it in or maybe just buy a new case? Are the plugs the same as a typical motherboard?
Thanks.

a quick search on the net and it shows me that its a mini tower case. Being a mini-tower and being HP, it should have a smaller than usualy power supply in it.

every HP computer uses a SFX microatx power supply.

they are made by ASTEC, BESTEC, LITEON , or DELTA.

most of them are 150 watts and p4 compatible. you can replace them with any other SFX power supply, though some SFX supplies have a fan that juts out, and may not fit in certain models.

ebay, directron, compgeeks has a few as well. (i know for a fact compgeeks is supplied by the HP oem supplier, notice how many HPs they sell). best bet for a real HP one would be compgeeks. i'd get the one with the p4 connector if you have a recent, system, i dont know if compgeeks has that right now.

the biggest you can get is 200watts, and i know a bunch of places sell that. newegg even does.
