HP Photosmart series.

Im thinking about getting a 1115 photosmart. Maybe a 1215, depending. It will be used to some casual photo printing, but I want good quality. Anyone have any experience with these? If so let me know. Or maybe tell me another good photo printer around the same price. Thanks

Tschaft, most reviews of HP photosmart printers give them postive marks on photo quality and text. Lexmark printers usually score better on text, but their cost per page is higher. From past experience, most of HP's print quality comes from their ink carts are the print head is built into them, meaning you receive a new print head everytime you buy a new ink cart. I have an Officejet AIO, but it prints the same as thier photo printers because it uses the same ink carts. Hope this helps.

IMO the Photosmart Series is overpriced. I have a DeskJet 970Cse that prints with quality equal to what you get off a Photosmart Series printer at a lower price. Sorry to say it's not that fancy black color like the Photosmart Series, but it does say "Professional Series" across the cover. Another nice feature of this model is that it prints double side with automatic page flipping.

Yoshi, I tried to get that point acrss in my post, the reason your printer prints the same as thier PhotoSmart series, is because it likely uses the same ink carts. But depending for the users preferences, the P/S series can print directly right off the memory cards while you 970 cannot, you need to go through the computer. I suppose it comes down to what the user wants, but the quality is the same. As for the double sided feature, most of the newer HP's I seen either have it, or can use it as an optional upgrade.
