Hello,
I recently installed my Photosmart 1100 Printer via USB running under Windows 2000 Professional. I downloaded the latest drivers/software for it and everything installed perfectly. But the question I have is the 'Unplug or Eject Hardware' is sitting in my taskbar. When I turn off my Printer, I get a warning on how I shouldn't turn off my printer without ejecting it first using the 'unplug or eject hardware' program.
Now, the weird thing is, when I have my Printer turned off, the 'unplug or eject hardware' is still running in my taskbar. I think because I have it connected to the USB but why would it be running if my Printer is turned off?
Also, when I attempt to stop the Photosmart 1100 with the 'Unplug or Eject Hardware'menu, this is what I see listed:
Photosmart P1100-Photosmart P1100-1284.4 Compatible Printer-Photosmart P1100(USB Icon)
and a message appears 'the device 1284.4 Compatible Printer cannot be stopped because another application is using it'. I can't unplug the USb device so the only I can safely do is just turn off my PC becore I can shut down my printer.
Anyone with suggestions or tips?
Thanks
