HP Pavillion dv1000 - HELP

I have an HP Pavillion dv1000 notebook. It is almost 2 years old, and I did not get the extended warranty.

I was watching an hour long show on the laptop on a fully charged 12 cell battery. After it was over, I shutdown the laptop. The next day I plugged the laptop into the power supply and left for work. Laptop was never powered on.

A day later I go to turn the laptop on and I get a quick blink for the power button and nothing else. Tried again, same result. I then noticed the little lightning bolt that normally is lit up when the power is plugged was not lit up.

I then unplugged the laptop, removed the battery and then put the battery back in. I pressed the power button again...this time the power button and all the display lights lit up, but that's it. It still doesn't even begin to boot up.

I did here a little clicking sound if I held the power button down, but that has even stopped now. I also tried a replacement power cord, with the same results.

I thought it might be the battery, but because the lightning bolt doesn't light up when the laptop is plugged in...it leads me to believe it is an internal problem.

Anyone, Anything? Thank you.

Could be the power circuit at the back. HP's power connectors are notoriously weak and just get worn with age.
