unlike dell, does HP use the typical atx psu for their pavilions? cuz my uncle is getting me one and i'd like to see if i can upgrade everything in there later on, such as the mobo, psu, and such. dell has a thing where they require u to use their own stuff only, which basically means u cant switch psu or put in a new mobo. i'm not sure if hp or other companies do that.

I don't know personally, but if you were to upgrade, chances are you gonna wana get a faster cpu, new mobo, more ram, etc. There is no such thing as computer upgrades lol. If I were to upgrade though, I would just get a new case if I were you. The psu will probably be weak so I can understand why you want to replace it, but if you do need to replace it the upgrade should be substantial, so therefore you're gonna be getting all new stuff. Sorry I can't give you a straight up answer, but thats just my 2 cents and I think you'd want to buy all new stuff.

From what I've read, it seems like HP uses micro atx boards. Their psu's are weird though...

example hp psu

They seem to make the psus in funky shapes. Freakin retarded name brands. But I think I'm pretty sure about most mobos being atx or micro atx.
