I have a HP Pavilion dv9627cl Laptop. i just updated to Windows 7 Professional. I am having a hard time with some of the drivers. HP's site couldn't offer me any driver support for windows 7 which really surprised me. does anyone know where i can go to find the drivers I need for my laptop? Specifically I have 3 unknown devices, 2 are Base System Device and 1 is Coprocessor that have exclamations.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's entirely possible that your laptop has components that aren't "Windows 7 compatible."
My aging Sony won't run Vista...too many components don't have supported drivers.

HP has not been good about supplying driver updates (particularly for older printers), probably as a cost cutting measure. Normally when this happens, people look at the spec. sheet for their computer and try to go out to the component manufacturer to see if they can get the needed driver. Sometimes too, Ive been able to use the driver available from the notebook manufacturer's website for a model that is a close but more recent cousin to the one your trying to upgrade.

It's possible that with a program like Belarc Advisor, or even the HP site itself to find out exactly what components are in the PC...that might help to find suitable drivers...but not always.

The 2 Base System Devices are for the Ricoh card reader. First link is the HP Win7 driver. Other link has detailed info. Check the second link for the Coprocessor device. I think that may be part of the nVidia chipset but not sure.
