HP Pavilion DV6 Screen Replacement

I need to replace my screen in my HP Pavilion DV6 but don't know if it is glossy or matte - how do I check? Or, does it matter? Does it have to be the same kind as I had in it before? Thank you.
 
It doesn't matter. It’s just personal preference. You will need to get your screen out first as the DV6 has been around for a while from the LCD CCFL through the LED days. I am pretty sure they have always been 15.6” however is it LCD with CCFL backlighting than the demand for those is higher and you will be looking at $100 for just the screen. If it is LED then they are ½ that. LED has only a single ribon connector going to the screen where LCD CCFL has a ribon connector and a seperate backlight connector.
