I am currently deployed in Iraq, they have recently made wireless internet access available on our base. I have tried several times and still have been unable to detect with wireless signal. I have checked with other computers and they all receive the signal, but my HP does not. I have the little slide bar on the front and no matter what position the amber light does not turn blue. I have check to see if I have any conflicts and that isn't a problem.

I have tried to download and install new drivers, rolled back to the previous driver, still not able to solve the problem.

I am unable to check the HP web sight, it's restricted. If anyone has any information as to what could be causeing this please advise. If anyone has or could post the drivers for me then that would also help out. Laptop info listed below,

HP Pavallion dv6000
Vista Home

the first thing you can check is if you go into device manager and under the networking check to see if it shows the wireless card.
if it does not then that would be why you cannot get wireless, has to due with the slot on the board

HP Does have an extended warranty on select DV2000 DV6000 and DV9000 laptop for the wireless not working. at work for this extended repair the units have to be sent into hp for repair.

I do not know what options you would have seeing as you are deployed in iraq

I have checked the device manager and it is listed and states that it is working properly. I have not installed anything onto the system. I would agree sending it back to HP is an option but me being here makes that kinda hard. I did send HP an emails and hopefully they will do something. Thanks for the suggestions and have a good weekend.
