HP P1505 Printer - How do I

OK, so somewhere along the line the P1505 sitting at my desk must have sucked up a staple, b/c pages sometimes come out with a shadow of a staple printed on them! I'm assuming it's somewhere in guts of the thing, since I replaced the toner cartridge and it's still doing it. How do I take this thing apart?

Anyone know of a good service manual for the P1505?

This sounds kinda crazy, but having someone hold the machine upside down and blowing compressed air up into it might work. Also try printing a page while holding it upside down. I did this once and I got rid of a paperclip that had wedged into the guts of a printer and was causing pages to catch, tear and get stuck.

If a staple was ran through the printer the issue has a high probability of being a damaged transfer drum.

Does the image repeat at regular intervals?

Could also be on a mirror or somewhere in the sensitizing beams path. Turning laser printers (or inkjets for that matter) upside down isn't generally a wise idea. You can have toner or ink all over the inside of the printer and/or all over the room.

Yup. It leaves an impression in the paper even. I'm sure it's stuck to the transfer drum, so I'd like to get it off ASAP, before it gets even more wrecked than it likely is.

The toner catridge for P1505 includes the transfer drum, so replacing it should have fixed the problem.

Here's what HP has to say:

Issue
An unexpected ink mark or loose toner mark displays on the printed page.
Clean the inside of the product.
Check the paper type and quality.
Install a new HP print cartridge.

Issue
The printed page displays unexpected marks repeated at regular intervals.
The print cartridge is damaged.
The wrong media type is selected in the printer driver.
The internal parts have toner on them.

Isn't there a fuser or something along the back of the printer? There are a few guards along the back that indicate that there are hot parts behind them. Could the staple be back there somewhere? If so, does anyone know how to take that apart without breaking it?
